Biking
There are numerous bike trails and paths throughout the Canmore area;
additionally, the Nordic Centre features over 60km of trails to explore.
Bicycles rentals are readily available in Canmore.

Bowling
Enjoy an entertaining afternoon or evening of four-lane, five-pin
bowling in Banff. Bowling shoes can be rented on site.

Cave Tours
Explore the water-sculptured passages and chambers of lime mineral
formations under Grotto Mountain near Canmore. These guided trips
are ideal for reasonably fit people looking for a unique experience.
Both full-day and half-day tours are available.

Cross Country Skiing
In addition to numerous cross-country trails and routes throughout
the Rockies, the Canmore Nordic Centre (developed for the 1988 Winter
Olympics) boasts over 60 km of world-class cross-country and biathlon
trails. There are also Cross-Country trails at Lake Louise, Sunshine
Village, and the Nakiska ski hills. Skis and equipment can be rented
in Canmore.

There are a variety of dining establishments ranging from casual
fare to fine dining. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and casual fare is
only a short walk or drive from Mystic Springs Chalets & Hot
Pools.
Dog Sledding
Dog sled tours offer visitors an opportunity to drive a team of beautiful
Huskies on a traditional dog sled, through the stunning Rocky Mountain
wilderness. Experienced professional guides escort groups and teach
the basics of traditional dog sledding.

Entertainment & "Night Life"
Canmore has a great variety of pubs, bars, and lounges for visitors to choose
from. Almost every spectrum of music and entertainment is available, from Jazz
bars to Country music, from sports pubs to a night of letting loose on the dance
floor.

Fishing & Fly Fishing
The Bow Valley offers terrific fishing and fly fishing locations
-enjoy a quiet trip on your own, or organize a tour through a local
company. Fishing licenses are required, and are easily obtainable
in Canmore.

town has a wealth of talent, and visitors are sure to enjoy the myriad

Gondolas
Visitors can choose from Banff's Sulphur Mountain Gondola, Lake Louise's
Summer Sightseeing Gondola, or the Golden Eagle Express Gondola at
the Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. All offer stunning views of the
surrounding mountain ranges, hiking trails, and restaurants at the
top.

Hiking, Walking & Jogging
Canmore offers wonderfully scenic hikes ranging from historical history
walks, sightseeing paths, to a more strenuous mountain scramble.
Visitors will enjoy a wide choice of self-guided trails and fully-guided
interpretive hiking trips.

Horseback Riding
Outfitters offer basic riding lessons and guided trail rides. Trips
vary from a few hours to day-long excursions through flatlands and
mountain trails.

Ice Climbing
Canmore has earned a reputation as one of the best ice climbing destinations
in the world. Professional guides are available to bring first-time
climbers out, and a series of exciting packages are available. Canmore
boasts routes suitable for beginners, intermediate climbers, and
the more experienced climber who is looking to push their limits.

Ice Fishing
Ice fishing is a unique winter experience - several local operators
arrange guided ice fishing tours to the Spray Lakes and other areas.
Packages generally include use of a heated hut, rods & reels,
lunch and transportation.

Ice Skating
Visitors will enjoy either outdoor or indoor ice-skating. During
the winter, the Canmore Recreation Centre offers indoor ice skating
daily during scheduled hours, while the Bow River in Banff is a favourite
local spot for Outdoor Ice Skating. Ice Skate rentals are readily
available in the town of Canmore.

Icefield Tours
The Athabasca Glacier is easily one of the most well-known glaciers
in North America. The Glacier can be accessed through the Icefields
Parkway (Highway 93), and visitors can take a tour on the specially
designed Snowcoaches. The landscape is stunning and the experience
equally unusual. The Icefields are open from mid-April to mid-October.

Ice Walks
Tours of Banff's Johnston Canyon is a popular winter activity: this
guided interpretive Icewalk tour teaches visitors about the canyon's
history, wildlife and habitat. This 3 ½ hour walk is an excellent
family outing, providing everyone in the group is reasonably fit
and able to do a bit of walking on some steep paths.

Explore Canmore and area's diverse background, from native culture
to Canmore's roots as a mining town, from preserved pioneer homes
to geological treasures. Consider visiting the Canmore Centennial Museum, the Canmore Museum and Geo-Science Centre, the Whyte
Museum, and the Luxton Home & Garden.

Skiing & Snowboarding
Alberta's biggest and best known ski hills can all be easily accessed
from Canmore - all of the hills offer an extensive range of runs
for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. Rentals and lessons
for children and adults are available at each of the hills. Mystic
Springs offers seasonal Ski & Snowboard packages
Snow Shoeing
Snowshoes allow you to move easily on top of the snow that
blankets the Rocky Mountains during the winter months.
Half-day and full-day guided snowshoeing packages (with
equipment) are available, or, if you feel like going out
on your own, snowshoes rentals can be arranged locally.
