Ice Fishing in the Canadian Rockies

We feature ice fishing in mountain lakes set high in the snow-covered Rocky Mountains. The air is clean, and the lakes, with vast expanses of untracked snow. are not crowded, The best ice fishing lakes in the region include the Spray Lakes and Kananaskis Lakes.
We offer excursions to both of these locales. The Kananaskis and Spray Lakes are deep and clear, and hold trophy size fish. The scenery around these lakes is magnificent, the icy majesty of the Rocky Mountains in winter is unforgettable.

This service is available December through April, depending on ice conditions. Ice fishing is for lake trout, rainbow trout, and Rocky Mountain whitefish.

Ice fishing is an easy way for the novice and expert to catch fish. You will be provided with all the fishing gear and equipment required to make this a complete and comfortable experience.

All trips are private; you will be accompanied by our experienced guides.

We can accommodate groups from one to 10 persons. Of course we provide heated huts to keep you warm.

We will cook your catch for a delicious shore lunch, and will keep a kettle warm for hot drinks.

Typical round trip length is 6-7 hours. Ice fishing is a unique Canadian wilderness experience

Fishing Licenses are an additional $30.00 cdn per adult (approx $20.00 USD) 5 day license only.
Children 15 and under do not require a license. Children 6-15 years and non fishers are an additional $15.00 added to applicable rate, Children under 6 are free.
