The Guarantee

CanaDream guarantees that our fleet is of the highest standard in Canada with features that are exclusive to CanaDream.

Reservations

A $200 deposit is required upon booking.

Payments

Full payment is required 30 days prior to departure. Payment can be made by Master Card, Visa, American Express, JCB or Diner's Club credit cards. All renters must possess a valid credit card.

Cancellation Policy

  • Booked and cancelled within 5 days No charge
  • Over 30 days prior to departure $ 50
  • 30 - 15 days prior to departure $200
  • 14 - 08 days prior to departure $500
  • 7 - departure day/no shows 100% of the rental charges

Minimum Rental

7 nights between June 1 to September 30, 3 nights for the remainder of the year.

Security Deposit

  • Rentals require a security deposit of $500 ($1,000 for drivers 21 to 24 years)
  • An open credit card authorization is taken at departure for all rentals
  • Security deposits must be made by credit card and are processed
  • Deposits are refunded when the vehicle is returned complete with all equipment in a clean and undamaged condition

Group Bookings

CanaDream welcomes group bookings for all our unit types with the following changes to our regular terms and conditions for groups of 5 or more vehicles. A deposit of $500 per unit is required upon confirmation of the booking.

Full payment is required 90 days prior to departure.

Group Cancellation Policy

  • Over 180 days prior to departure $500 per vehicle booked
  • 90 - 60 days prior to departure 50% of the charges
  • Under 60 days Full payment

Transfers/Hours of Operation

  • May 1 - September 30, 8 AM - 6 PM, Monday through Saturday*
  • October 1 - April 30, 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Saturday*
  • Check-in or pick-up is from 1 PM - 4 PM
  • Check-out or drop-off is from 8 AM - 11 AM
  • Late charges for drop-offs after 11 AM will be $35.00 per hour

* Sunday pick-up/drop-offs are available at a cost of $125, per pick-up or drop-off.

Sorry, there are no refunds for early returns.

Repairs/Maintenance Responsibility

Our fleet of vehicles is in top mechanical condition. In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure occurs, guests are authorized to proceed with the necessary repairs up to $100. For expenses over $100, guests must telephone the rental station for authorization before proceeding with repairs. Replacement parts must be returned to the rental station for reimbursement. Guests assume full responsibility for damage to tires. Oil, tire pressure and coolant must be checked at each refueling. Costs for oil will be refunded upon presentation of receipts. The company's responsibility is limited to the refund of the daily gross rate, or portion thereof, if the breakdown repair is longer than 48 hours.

Pets: Sorry, pets are not allowed.

Driving License/Driver's Age

  • All drivers must possess a driver's license valid for the entire rental period
  • An international driver's license is recommended for foreign tourists
  • Minimum age is 21. Only drivers listed on contract are allowed to drive
  • Additional Driver Fee: $5.00 per night for each additional driver
  • Driving in U.S.: $10 per night for those vehicle entering the US.

Travel Restricted Areas

Vehicles are not permitted to enter Mexico at any time. Travel to Death Valley is limited to the low season (01 October through 30 April) due to extremely high temperatures which can cause system failures. Also, a $10/night fee applies to any travel within the United States (including Alaska). Guests assume all responsibility for any expense or loss of time while traveling in restricted areas.

Northern Surcharge

There is a surcharge of $500 for rentals starting from Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal or Halifax with permission to travel on/in:

  • Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, British Columbia
  • Cassiar Highway (#37) north of Meziadin Junction, British Columbia
  • Highway 35 north of Peace River, Alberta
  • Northwest Territories, Yukon, Nunavut, Newfoundland
  • Quebec & Labrador north and east of Sept-Iles

Permission is automatically granted to travel in above areas with pick ups in Whitehorse or St. John's. Vehicles for northern travel must be expressly requested and confirmed at the time of reservation. Customers who travel to restricted areas without permission will be subject to a $900 penalty and will void all insurance coverage.

Preparation Charges

There is a preparation charge of $55 per booking. This includes transfers to and from the airport and airport area hotels, vehicle preparation (including first supply of propane and toilet chemicals).

Convenience Kit Fees

Convenience kits are charged at $59 per person per booking. Our convenience kit includes dishes, cookware, pillows, linen, towels, sleeping bags and cleaning equipment.

One-way Rental Fees

Based on availability, we offer one-way rentals to and from all of our vacation centre locations. One-way rentals must be reserved and confirmed in advance and the following drop off fees apply:

  • Vancouver to Calgary - $300
  • One-ways between all other affiliated locations - $550
  • Special or unique one-ways across North America are available on request

Commercial Renters

CanaDream vehicles may be rented for commercial purposes if special prior approval is obtained.

Responsibility

If, for any reason beyond the company's control, the reserved vehicle is not available, CanaDream reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent value or offer a higher rated vehicle at no additional cost. Should a lower rated vehicle be substituted, the company's only responsibility is to refund the difference between the two vehicles. Although this is infrequent, accidents or mechanical repairs may force substitutions.

Fuel

CanaDream makes no representation as to fuel consumption. Vehicles are supplied with a minimum ¼ tank. If the guest returns with less fuel than on departure, he/she will be charged for that amount of fuel. There is no refund if client returns with more fuel than on departure.

Sales Taxes apply to all charges as follows:

  • All Stations GST (Goods & Services Tax) except Halifax and St. John's - 7%
  • Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna Provincial Tax - 7.5%
  • Toronto Provincial Tax - 8%
  • Montreal Provincial Tax - 7.5%
  • Halifax and St. John's (HST) Harmonized Sales Tax - 15%

There is no provincial tax in Calgary, Edmonton, or Whitehorse.

Tax is calculated on the gross amount of the rental.

Kilometer Plans

  • To increase from 100 to 160km/night - $15.00
  • To increase from 100 to 250km/night - $35.00
  • Individual or additional kilometers - $0.29

All CanaDream vehicles are insured with $1,000,000 public liability and property damage. The units carry $500 deductible for collision and comprehension. Our insurance does not cover liability for loss of personal property, nor does it cover cost for accommodation, transportation or replacement of vehicle, if the vehicle is stolen or should an accident occur that makes the rented vehicle inoperable.

Guests also have coverage in the event of a mechanical breakdown that requires more than 48 hours for repairs of the vehicle to be completed. The radio, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, appliances and cruise control are not considered to be mechanical breakdowns. Receipted expenses of $45 per person per night for lodging and $45 per group per day for transportation are provided. A limit of $3,000 per vehicle per group applies.

This plan is not valid in the case of an accident, or stolen vehicle.


The customer is responsible for the following maximum charges:

Public Liability & Property Insurance: $1,000,000
Customer Pays:
Two vehicle accident on a signed and numbered road, fire, theft or vandalism (with police and accident report): $500 ($1,000 for drivers 21-24 yrs old)


Windshield / glass: $250


Off Road, including campsites, parking lots, driveways etc.: $500


Damage while backing up $500


Roof damage (not caused by two vehicle accident on a numbered road): $500


Undercarriage damage, tires: all cost


Interior damage (not caused by two vehicle accident on a numbered road): $500


Collision with animals: $500


Please note the following conditions
There is no insurance coverage and guest will be responsible for all damages if the vehicle is driven to an unauthorized area without approval. These areas include logging and non public roads, travel to Mexico, the Alaska Highway north of Fort St. John, Cassiar Highway (#37) north of Meziadin Junction, Highway 35 north of Peace River, Quebec & Labrador north and east of Sept-Iles and all roads in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Labrador and Newfoundland. There is a $900 penalty for unauthorized driving in these areas.

In addition, note that parking of your vehicle is prohibited in the greater metropolitan area of Montreal and Ottawa; this includes all pay parking lots, hotel parking lots, side streets, malls, etc. In these areas, park your vehicle at a campsite and use public transportation, taxi, etc.

Thefts in Montreal/Ottawa: $5000


Damages and accidents while driving in unauthorized areas: All costs


Damage and accidents caused while the vehicle is driven by unauthorized driver or driver under the influence of drugs/alcohol: All costs


Willful damage: All costs


Damage incurred during illegal acts: All costs


Damages and accidents caused while vehicle driven by an unauthorized driver not listed on the rental contract: All costs


Damages and accident caused while vehicle is driven in the USA without prior authorization: All costs


Damages incurred during illegal act: All costs
