Day
1 Vancouver Arrival
You
will be met on arrival at Vancouver International Airport and
transferred to your downtown Vancouver accommodation. Spend
the rest of the day exploring this scenic city on your own.
Overnight at Canadian Pacifics Hotel Vancouver or Waterfront
Centre. D.
Day
2 Vancouver to Kamloops, GoldLeaf Service
Travel
onboard the Rocky Mountaineer to Kamloops while enjoying the
added comforts and amenities of GoldLeaf Service, including
dining in the GoldLeaf Dining Room and viewing the spectacular
scenery through dome windows. One of the highlights of todays
journey is watching water torrent past the Fraser Canyons
walls at Hells Gate, the canyons narrowest point.
Upon leaving the Fraser Canyon, the train will follow the Thompson
River to the city of Kamloops. Dinner is included this evening
either at your Kamloops hotel or Two River Junction Dinner &
Musical Revue (at a reduced price). Overnight in Kamloops.

Day
3 Kamloops to Jasper, GoldLeaf Service
Back
onboard the Rocky Mountaineer you will follow the Thompson River
through rolling plateaus into the snowy peaks of the Monashee
and Cariboo Mountains. Pass by Mt. Robson, the highest peak
in the Canadian Rockies at 3954 meters (12,972 ft), before entering
Jasper National Park. Arrive in Jasper late afternoon. Overnight
at the Jasper Park Lodge. B,L, D.
Day
4 Jasper Sightseeing
Spend
the morning relaxing at the Jasper Park Lodge. This afternoon,
meet your driver/guide and concierge on a tour of Jasper. During
todays tour and upcoming sightseeing tours in the Canadian
Rockies, you will travel in a specially designed motorcoach
providing extra legroom and additional comfort. The same driver/guide
and fellow travellers will accompany you over the next few days
until you arrive in Banff on day 7. Attractions of todays
tour include Pyramid and Patricia Lakes, Maligne Canyon and
Athabasca viewpoint. Overnight at the Jasper Park Lodge. B,

Day
5 Icefields Parkway Tour from Jasper to Lake Louise
Travel
in great comfort between Jasper and Lake Louise in a specially
designed motorcoach with extra legroom. Your onboard concierge
will see you tour in comfort while your driver/guide will point
out the highlights of one of the most scenic highways in the
world, the Icefields Parkway. Stops will be made at Athabasca
Falls and Sunwapta Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield.
It is here that you will ride a Snocoach to the middle of Athabasca
Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Your driver/guide
will explain how glaciers are formed and point out some interesting
geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included).
En route from the Icefields you will view Crowfoot Glacier and
Peyto Lake before arriving in Lake Louise this afternoon. Overnight
at the Chateau Lake Louise or Post Hotel.* B, D.
Day
6 Yoho Park Tour
Spend
the morning relaxing at Lake Louise. An afternoon tour takes
you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders.
Among the points of interest are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald
Lake and a natural Rock Bridge that spans the Kicking Horse
River. Between June and September additional stops will be made
at picturesque Moraine Lake, Takakkaw Falls and the Valley of
the Ten Peaks near Lake Louise. Overnight at the Chateau Lake
Louise or Post Hotel.* B, D.
Day
7 Lake Louise to Banff
This
morning a tour from Lake Louise to Banff included. Your journey
takes you by Vermilion Lakes, Castle Mountain, the Hole-in-the-Wall
and Johnston Canyon. After time in Banff for lunch (not included)
a sightseeing tour shows you the highlights of Banff townsite.
Among the points of interest are visits to Sulphur Mountain
Gondola, Bow Falls, Cascade Gardens, the Cave and Basin Centre,
Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Today you will also say goodbye
to your driver/guide and onboard concierge. Overnight at the
Banff Springs or Rimrock Resort Hotel. B, D
Day
8 Free day in Banff
Today
you will have the entire day to spend exploring Banff National
Park on your own. Some optional activities include soaking in
the mineral pools at Upper Hot Springs, enjoying a nature walk
on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banffs historic museums,
cruising on Lake Minnewanka or enjoying a round of golf at the
Banff Springs. Overnight at the Banff Springs or Rimrock Resort
Hotel. B, D.
Day
9 Banff to Calgary
After
check out this morning transfer by sedan car to Calgary International
Airport or downtown Calgary where your Canadian Rockies Gold
Tour ends. B.
