Dear Friends of the Montana Daylight,

Montana Rockies suspended our operation for the 2005 season. We took this time to evaluate our plan to deal with rising fuel and insurance rates and are unable to overcome our many obstacles. We will not have new products in place for 2006, and unfortunately there will be no future operations utilizing the model as in previous years.

We fully examined the existing model, explored new partnerships, and looked for additional marketing opportunities. We looked at other markets with a larger population base and with easier air accessibility to extend our operating season. We are unable to succeed with the distress inventory sales and new, two day minimum stay requirements with some vendors; both scenarios are cost prohibitive to our model. The industry is just too lean today to support the Montana Daylight operation.

The dynamics of the travel industry have changed since 9-11 that's no surprise to anyone. But even with the help of our partners, revenue had not been what we hoped, nor can we expect the enormous increase in revenue needed to offset our fixed costs.
