East Bound

Day 1 Vancouver Arrival
Arrive in Vancouver and spend the rest of the day exploring this scenic city on your own. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2 Vancouver to Kamloops
Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia. En route you will pass through the fertile Fraser Valley and the scenic Fraser Canyon. One of the canyon’s true highlights is Hell’s Gate, where you will watch water torrent past the canyon’s walls at its narrowest point. Upon leaving the Fraser Canyon, the train will follow the Thompson River to the city of Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 3 Kamloops to Banff
Continue your journey eastwards to the Canadian Rockies. First, you will travel through vast ranchlands to Shuswap Lake. Next, pass Craigellachie, where the “last spike” was driven completing the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885. Beyond Craigellachie is Rogers Pass with its tunnels, glistening glaciers, and snow capped-mountains. Before crossing over the Continental Divide into Banff National Park, the train will travel through the unique Spiral Tunnels in Yoho National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. Overnight in Banff.

Day 4 Sightseeing in Banff
Enjoy a three-hour motorcoach sightseeing tour of Banff townsite this morning. Among the highlights are visits to Bow Falls, Banff Gondola, the Cave and Basin Centre, Surprise Corner, and the Hoodoos. The rest of the day is free to spend at leisure in Banff. Overnight in Banff.

Day 5 Banff to Lake Louise including Yoho National Park
A tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the attractions are Lake Louise, the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural Rock Bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Between June and September additional stops will be made at Takakkaw Falls, picturesque Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 6 Free day at Lake Louise
Enjoy a free day at Lake Louise. Take a stroll beside the lake or an afternoon paddle in a canoe. Overnight at Lake Louise.

Day 7 Icefields Parkway Tour from Lake Louise to Jasper
Enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Banff and Jasper National Parks via the Icefields Parkway. Among the highlights are Bow Lake, the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Falls. The Icefield is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle in addition to being one of the most accessible ones in North America. It is here that you will ride a Snocoach to the middle of Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included). Arrive in Jasper late this afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 8 Jasper to Toronto
This afternoon begin your three-day VIA Rail journey across the prairie provinces and northern Ontario. Overnight on VIA Rail.

Day 9 Travelling on VIA Rail
Continue your rail journey across western Canada to Toronto. Overnight on VIA Rail.

Day 10 Arrival in Toronto
Arrive in Toronto on VIA Rail this evening. Overnight in Toronto.

Day 11 Niagara Falls Daytrip
Enjoy a full day motorcoach tour to Niagara Falls, one of the great natural wonders of the world. Included is a cruise on the Maid of the Mist to the base of Horseshoe Falls (Imax Theatre or Journey Behind the Falls is substituted when Maid of the Mist is not operating). Return to Toronto early this evening. Overnight in Toronto.

Day 12 Toronto to Montreal
Travel by VIA Rail in VIA 1 class from Toronto to Montreal. Overnight in Montreal.

Day 13 Montreal Sightseeing
Enjoy a half-day guided tram tour of Montreal today. Scheduled stops include Old Montreal, Notre-Dame Basilica, Olympic Park, Mount Royal, and McGill University among others. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this vibrant city on your own. Overnight in Montreal.

Day 14 Montreal to Halifax
Spend an entire day sightseeing independently in Montreal before taking the overnight VIA train to Halifax. Overnight on VIA Rail.

Day 15 Halifax Arrival
Enjoy the landscapes of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick as you arrive in Halifax this afternoon. Spend the rest of the day exploring this eastern seaboard city. Overnight in Halifax.

Day 16 Halifax Departure
Your tour ends with check out from your Halifax hotel.

Arrive in Halifax and spend the rest of the day exploring this eastern Canadian seaboard city. Overnight in Halifax.

DAY 2 HALIFAX TO MONTREAL
Overnight on VIA Rail en route to the Province of Quebec.

DAY 3 MONTREAL
Arrive into Montreal early this morning and spend the rest of the day sightseeing this vibrant city known for its culture and history. Overnight in Montreal.

DAY 4 MONTREAL
Enjoy a half-day guided Tram Tour of Montreal today including Olympic Park, Old Montreal and Notre-Dame Basilica. Overnight in Montreal.

DAY 5 MONTREAL TO TORONTO
Travel by VIA Rail in VIA 1 class from Montreal to Toronto where you will join the Trans Canada Rail Adventure

DAY 6 NIAGARA FALLS DAY TRIP
Enjoy a full day motorcoach tour to Niagara Falls, one of the great natural wonders of the world. Included is a cruise on the “Maid of the Mist,”* which takes you to the base of the majestic Horseshoe Falls. Lunch is included on your tour. Overnight in Toronto.

DAY 7 VIA RAIL DEPARTING TORONTO
Transfer to Toronto’s Union Station in the morning and board VIA Rail’s “Silver and Blue” service. Spend your first night onboard. Breakfast, lunch and dinner onboard.

DAY 8 VIA RAIL
Watch the scenery change as you journey across the great plains of central Canada, and into the Prairies. Overnight onboard the train. Breakfast, lunch and dinner onboard.

DAY 9 VIA RAIL ARRIVING IN JASPER
Continue through the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, arriving in Jasper early afternoon and transfer (included) to your hotel. Overnight in Jasper. Breakfast and lunch onboard.

DAY 10 JASPER TO LAKE LOUISE
Travel by motorcoach along the Icefields Parkway with a stop at the Columbia Icefield for a Snocoach ride on Athabasca Glacier. Continue to Lake Louise for a late afternoon arrival at your hotel.

DAY 11 LAKE LOUISE
The day is yours to enjoy. Overnight in Lake Louise.

DAY 12 LAKE LOUISE TO BANFF
Today tour Emerald Lake via Yoho Valley by motorcoach. Transfer from Lake Louise to Banff. Overnight in Banff.

DAY 13 BANFF
Enjoy a three hour motorcoach sightseeing tour of Banff. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos, the Cave and Basin Centre and Sulphur Mountain. The rest of the day is free to enjoy. Overnight in Banff.

DAY 14 BANFF TO KAMLOOPS
Transfer (included) to Banff Station and board the Rocky Mountaineer. Ride through the Spiral Tunnels and travel alongside Shuswap Lake. Optional evening at Two River Junction Dinner and Musical Revue. Breakfast and lunch onboard.

DAY 15 KAMLOOPS TO VANCOUVER
Back onboard the Rocky Mountaineer, pass through Black Canyon and beside the glacier-fed Thompson River. Follow the Fraser Canyon as it snakes through the Coastal Mountains before arriving in Vancouver for your overnight stay (transfer to hotel included). Breakfast and lunch onboard.

DAY 16 VANCOUVER
Your Trans Canada Rail Adventure ends with hotel check-out.

* Imax Theatre or Journey Behind the Falls is substituted when the Maid of the Mist is not operating. On VIA Rail, parties of two are accommodated in bedrooms. Single guests are accommodated in roomettes.
